The Story Girl. I love Ammar's spoken word , so I was happy to see that he finally had some poems in print, too! His translations of the poetry of Imam al-Shafi'ee were excellent, and I enjoyed his original poetry too. I look forward to more from him in the future! He was one of the invited guests to speak, and he performed some of his poetry to the audience as well as talked about some other topics.

I am a big fan of poetry in general. It's not a common thing among people my age but I just enjoy reading poetry. I appreciate the talent it takes in writing good poetry, but to be able to perform it in front of a crowd and get the meaning across, now that's something.

I decided to go pick up his book there. I wasn't sure if I'd like it or not but I decided to give it a shot and support a fellow Muslim, who was also happened to be a poet. I even got him to sign it which was pretty cool. So, I rated it 4 stars but here's how I broke it down. So the book has 3 parts. The 1st part is Ammar AlShukry's original poetry which is also broken into 4 different chapters, each with its own topic. I rated this part 4 stars and enjoyed it a lot. The 2nd was The Mandhumas which was just about the fiqh of some topics in Islam, written in a poetic style.
