How fast is a dtr 125

About 75ish down a hill in 6th gear, i'll never believe anyone saying theirs goes over 90! However resistance between knobblies and sm tyres will make a difference i reckon on top speed. I could get somewhere between 80 and 85mph flat, quite regularly with Trail tyres on.

Darty said in Top speed :. I've had just over 75, standard model just deristricted. Got a sat nav from the girlfriend for my birthday the other day so might check the accuracy of the factory clocks with it at some point.

Jens-Eskildsen Nice pig. Haha yeah. We are a few guys and a girl who have a little offroadclub called Mudhogs, so it seemed appropriate It even matches the pink bike. Jens-Eskildsen Fair enough!! If this happens, the throttle can be stuck at a high idle position, leading to some rough idling on your bike. Besides, it is cheap to insure and maintain and represents good value for anyone.

Spare parts are widely available and are inexpensive. Add to the fact that these bikes are extremely easy to service, and you understand why the DT is a good investment. Thanks to low power output, even newly licensed teenagers will find this bike easy to ride. The long-travel suspension absorbs bumps while good, firm brakes will safely bring you to a halt.

Compared to modern dual-sport bikes, the DT is simple and down-to-earth. Also 2 stroke oil is very expensive.

Well the good stuff is. Also I have off road syle tyres on and it feels a little bit twitchey going around tigt bens what do you expect, there made for dirt and not tarmac.

I just love the noise it makes and the way it goes. Don't think about it and just get one. You will not be disapointed.

Like all two strokes the power lives high up the RPM range. Acceleration is good - getting the bike promptly up to mph - albeit with frequent gear changes to keep it in the power band. The large tyres give good grip in all conditions, and inspire confidence taking corners at speed. Electric start never fails to fire the engine up within a second or two, even when left for a while. I've now moved on to a bigger bike, but only as i've started commuting on out-of-town roads.

If I was only using the bike around town I wouldn't think of buying anything else. Strengths: Handling excellent, rock steady at high speed.

Fuel economy miles on 6 litres of petrol. Weaknesses: One or two spots of rust on the frame despite being garaged and carefully cleaned after riding in the wet, although I had no problems with the exhaust paint. Slightly snatchy at low revs when crawling in traffic.

Uncomfortable seat if ridden for more than an hour, and slightly underpowered for out-of town riding drops back to mph up hills with traffic bunching up behind. I have owned this bike for a few months and the initial 'new bike' feeling has now subsided. The bike feels very responsive and performance is surprisingly good for such a small engine.

I use it for commuting and the rush hour traffic is now non-existent.
