It's unknown when this feature will be released nor do we know how a dog will fit into the grand scheme of things on the homestead. But we do know that it will more than likely be awesome. At almost 60 it is so awesome to be able to take on such a wonderful hobby! Around Mostly soft but some root areas that made it interesting. Only 1 hiker, this is really a mtn bike trail. Stopped for a great sandwich at Harmony Ridge Market when we were done. It was fun in a sense, but would have really been rad on a mountain bike. Unfortunately the noise was a real bummer.

Started in Bear Valley rode to the busy general store on highway 20 for a sandwich then rode a trail into Nevada city.
This ride was 28 miles and epic! Absolutely beautiful and had a little bit of everything - technical and flowing. Thanks to the people that maintain this trail because it was in excellent condition. I am just becoming an intermediate rider and it was challenging for me. Dips, climbs, roots and rocks to get around with some granny gear and quick pedaling.
Parked at White Cloud camping and went past little amphitheater, down the newly logged area and left onto the trail. Pretty views and easy in the beginning but got steep in a couple areas. Really good trail to learn new skills on. Ended at the open parking graveled which took me to Hallelujah Trail- I survived that one, but had no business being on it.

The trail passes through the park on the west side of the stream. You can park on the road and walk-in. There is a large parking area here. The trail comes up from Mormon Flats on the north side of the parking. It continues down to Affleck Park on the south side.
The south side is well signed. The north, on my trip, was a single track heading down from the parking lot without any signs. An early winter day near Pioneer Camp. As it enters the canyon, there are two rock walls, one on each side of the canyon. The Mormon Militia built the walls in as a defensive structure in case a war between the Mormon pioneers and the US government broke out. The trail continues up through aspen trees along a small stream.
Pioneer Camp, a luscious wetland area is passed before the trail climbs more steeply to Big Mountain Pass. Once under the power lines, the trail braids. Follow any of the trails that follow under the power lines up to the pass. The trail I took, shown on the map, passes a lovely small pond with a bench. The trail traverses the hillside, then descends to the stream bottom.
It is lovely in the fall when leaves are changing! Once in the stream bottom, the trail crosses UT at milepost 6. Continue across the road, then steeply down to a junction just before Affleck Park.
If exiting at Affleck Park, go left. The trail goes down to Affleck Park, then follow the campground road up the hill. The trail meanders around, crosses the stream, the merges with the campground road.
